Community Royal Court Contest
We are pleased that you are interested in applying for the 2026/2027 Constitution Royal Court Contest. We want this to be a fun and memorable experience for each of you.
The Louisville Constitution Committee began observing Constitution week in 1952 with many different celebrations/events. The Queen's Pageant has been a fun/memorable way to celebrate, however the young men have been missing an opportunity to get involved. We have developed this new format to help the younger generation learn about the history of the Constitution and our community, gain experience in meeting and interacting with other people, and public speaking.
Qualifications and an entry form are on-line at www.LouisvilleConstitutionTown.org. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY so you are aware of what will be expected of you. Please complete the on-line form completely with essay, references, photo, and sponsor form by August 15, 2026. NO applications will be accepted after this date! Please be sure all information is correct, as the information furnished by you will be used for all publicity.
Rules:
1. Qualification
--ALL Juniors and Seniors students (2026/2027 school year) enrolled in the Louisville Ohio High School district or home schooled and with
a Louisville address.
--The candidate must have never been married, divorced, had an annulment, and have no children. If selected, student must remain
unmarried and no children throughout term.
2. Full Application, 200-word Essay, sponsor, a recent photo, and references to be submitted by DEADLINE August 15, 2026.
3. All candidates must have their picture taken by the Constitution Committee’s photographer, Laura Esposito Photography (330-704-6473),
no later than August 25. These portraits will be used for publicity and presentation at the Community Banquet. Photo will be available for
candidates to purchase.
4. Each participant will select a sponsor ($100). Sponsor fee helps in publicity, printing, prizes, etc. of the Royal Court Contest.
5. Business dress attire is required at all events court participates in.
6. If needed during year, individuals may be asked to submit to a drug test. If candidates refuse to take test or tests positive, candidate’s
position will be terminated.
7. All candidates and sponsors will be publicized on Constitution Committee Website, Facebook, Banquet projection presentation, and
Constitution Week program booklet.
8. All those who submit an application will receive a certificate of participation.
9. Judges will review all applications/essays submitted. Candidates will be selected from applications to share a 3-minute speech at the
Community Banquet on September 16, 2026.
10. Judges at banquet will select winners to serve as the Constitution Royal Court (Ambassadors) for 2026/2027 year.
11. The each Court Member will receive a cash prize.
12. Royal Court will be invited to participate in events during year representing Louisville.
Application Process:
1. Complete on-line application.
2. Submit a recent photo. (email to louisvilleconstitutiontown@gmail.com)
3. Write 200-word essay on Constitution Week theme "Liberty Through The Ages."
4. Select 2 non-family references and ask them to complete on-line references.
5. Seek support sponsor (fee $100). (Constitution Committee can assist with this if needed.)
1st Level of Judging (point system) based on:
1. Completion of application
2. Content of essay
3. School participation
4. Extra curricular participation
5. Community service
6. References
Candidates will be picked and invited to the Community Banquet to give a speech. Candidates' dinner will be paid for at the banquet. Others (parents, sponsors, etc Cost will be $25 for dinner.)
2nd level of Judging at banquet based on:
1. Appearance
2. Speech subject
3. Speech presentation
4. Speech length (3 minutes)
During the year the Court will be invited to represent Louisville:
1. Ride Constitution Float in September 20 parade.
2. Participate in the Memorial Day services.
3. Ride car in the Hall of Fame Community Parade.
4. Participate in the Prayer Breakfast during Constitution week.
5. Other possible events.
